The County Director of Disaster Management, Benedict Mukoo has welcomed the expertise of JICA Consultant Yoshiko Son, in a bid to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the Enhancing Community Resilience Against Drought (ECORAD) I project.
The projects, aimed at promoting sustainable development and disaster risk reduction in the region, have been ongoing for the past two years.
Director Mukoo expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating that the directorate is looking forward to working with the JICA consultant to assess the progress and outcomes of the projects.
The consultant said this evaluation will help identify areas for improvement and ensure that efforts are making a real difference in the community.
Yoshiko also expressed she was impressed by the commitment and dedication of the Disaster Risk Management team to promoting sustainable development and disaster risk reduction.
She added that she is keen to work closely with the directorate to evaluate the impact of the ECORAD I projects.
As the assessment begins, both parties are optimistic about the potential for positive change in the region.
The consultant informed the team to be ready for updates on the findings and recommendations from the evaluation process.
In attendance included Moses Nawoton (Deputy Director of Disaster Risk Management), Philip Natapar (Assistant Director, Administration), Nicholas Eris (Assistant Director), and Isaiah Lokiles ( a JICA Consultant).
