Residents of Kakuma are set to benefit from a fully operational municipality after the county government deployed the first batch of staff to the recently established entity.

The new staff were received at the station by the Kakuma Municipality Manager, Peter Emuria, and his deputy, Halima Duba, and briefed on the public’s expectations of high-quality services.

In his address to the newly posted staff, the manager outlined the focus on waste management, disease control, the provision of clean and safe water, and partnerships with development partners as key priority areas deserving immediate attention from the staff.

The initiative effectively raises the number of fully operational municipalities to two, Lodwar and Kakuma.

It is expected that the staff will be formally inducted over the next few days into reporting channels, guidelines, and work jurisdiction areas to pave way for service delivery.
