Lodwar, 28th August 2024 (Governor’s Press Service): Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai has expressed optimism about Turkana’s growing business environment.
Speaking when he launched Mabati Rolling Mills’ new showroom in Lodwar, Governor Lomorukai highlighted the untapped potential in sectors such as finance, construction, hospitality, mining, fishing, and livestock.
“More businesses are choosing to set up shop in our county, attracted by the growing opportunities and favourable conditions. This influx of private sector investment is not only creating employment opportunities for our residents but also contributing significantly to our county’s revenue,” he said.
The Governor emphasized the county’s commitment to creating a favorable investment climate, including competitive fees and streamlined processes.
Mabati Rolling Mills, a leading manufacturer of building materials, offers a wide range of products, including corrugated iron sheets, roofing tiles, and other construction supplies through the showroom. Head of Service Centers, Anurag Mishra announced that the company would offer free transportation of goods for customers within a 100-kilometer radius of Lodwar.
County Commissioner Julius Kavita and County Executive for Trade David Erukudi both expressed their support for Mabati Rolling Mills’ investment in Turkana. They emphasized the importance of quality standards and business ethics among local traders.
