In a handover ceremony presided over by Deputy County Secretary Joseph Nyaga, the new Health Chief Officer, Dr Ezekiel Etelej, officially assumed office as his predecessor, Dr Gilchrist Lokoel, moved to a similar role in Livestock Development.
As the outgoing chief, Dr Lokoel highlighted some key areas that would require attention, such as ongoing projects, particularly the oxygen plants in Lokitaung and Lokori, strengthening the referral system and sub-county hospitals, and the completion of pending health bills.
County Executive for Health and Sanitation Longole Wangiros and Chief Officer for Preventative and Promotive Cathra Abdi welcomed the new chief and assured him of their support. They also wished the outgoing chief success in his new office.
Dr Etelej requested the support of the directors present and assured them of an open-door policy.
