COUNTY DIRECTS STAKEHOLDERS TO UTILIZE SUB-COUNTY FIELD OFFICES

The Chief Officer for Public Service, Administration, and Disaster Risk Management, David Maraka, has directed all stakeholders implementing programs at the sub-county level to engage county administrators to ensure better coordination and supervision.

“It is essential to understand that sub-county administrators, their deputies, ward and village administrators are the coordinators of government services at the grassroots level. Program implementers must consult these offices when working in those areas,” Maraka emphasized.

The Chief Officer revealed that inspections of visitor logs and field reports had shown that some program implementers were bypassing these key offices, making it difficult to oversee their activities effectively.

“As a county, we regard field offices as vital points of entry into the community. Given their proximity and daily interaction with the local population, these offices are in the best position to assess local needs and shape interventions for maximum impact,” Maraka explained.

He made these remarks during an inspection visit to Turkana North Sub-County, where he held discussions with Sub-County Administrator Brenda Kokoi as part of ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery.

The chief officer revealed that his office will reach out to all program implementers through formal means to communicate the advisory, urging all Sub-county administrators to notify both county and partners offices operating in their jurisdictions.

The chief was accompanied by director for Inspectorate Services Julius Lokaale and the Monitoring and Evaluation officer Sharon Adukon during the visit.
