Turkana County has made a significant step towards improving water services in the newly formed Lokichoggio Sub-County with the appointment of John Nalokio as the first dedicated sub-county water officer.

The appointment was announced by County Executive Committee Member for Water Services, Patrick Losike Lokaimoe, at the Turkana West WASH Forum.

Prior to the recent restructuring, Lokichoggio was part of Turkana West Sub-County. The newly formed sub-county now comprises Songot, Nanam, and Lokichoggio wards.

“Nalokio’s experience in water quality management and regulatory inspection makes him the ideal candidate to drive Lokichoggio’s water access agenda forward,” said CECM Lokaimoe.

The CECM urged Nalokio to collaborate with former water officer Emmanuel Echapan to ensure a seamless transition and effective service delivery.

Nalokio expressed his commitment to prioritizing service delivery and building a supportive environment for partner involvement.

“I am focused on establishing a framework that fosters collaboration and meets the community’s water needs effectively,” he said.
