Turkana County Deputy Governor Dr. John Erus recently hosted Kenya’s Principal Secretary for Roads, Dr. Joseph Mbugua, who was on a visit to inspect ongoing road projects in the region.

The visit focused on the Lodwar-Nakodok road, a crucial link connecting Kenya to South Sudan through Kakuma and Lokichoggio.

Dr. Erus emphasized the strategic importance of the road, stating, “Improved road infrastructure in Turkana will open up the nation to Uganda, South Sudan, and Ethiopia.” He suggested exploring joint implementation of road projects to accelerate development and enhance regional connectivity.

Dr. Mbugua assured the Deputy Governor that the government is committed to completing major road projects before the end of the year, including the 11-kilometer stretch to Nakodok.
